Biography

William Pei Shih’s fiction has won numerous prizes, including the Flannery O’Connor Award, the John Steinbeck Award, the Raymond Carver Short Story Contest, the Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story Competition, the UK Bridport Prize, the London Magazine, the Bath Short Story Award, Glimmer Train, Narrative, ScreenCraft, Winning Writers, and the North America Asian American Short Story Contests, among others. A graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, his stories have been published in McSweeney’s, the Masters Review, Carve Magazine, the Des Moines Register, Hyphen, and Reed.
