Naomi Shihab Nye
Biography
Naomi Shihab Nye is the author of numerous poetry collections, including Grace Notes: Poems about Family (HarperCollins, 2024), Cast Away: Poems for Our Time (Greenwillow, 2020), The Tiny Journalist (BOA, 2019) and Voices in the Air: Poems for Listeners (Greenwillow, 2018). She is the recipient of many honors, including the Ivan Sandrof Award for Lifetime Achievement from the National Book Critics Circle, the Lavan Award, the Paterson Poetry Prize, the Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award, the Robert Creeley Prize, and many Pushcart Prizes. Nye has received fellowships from the Guggenheim and Lannan Foundations. She was a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets from 2010 to 2015.
