Gary Gallagher

Gary W. Gallagher is the John L. Nau III Professor in the History of the American Civil War at the University of Virginia and a member of the VQR Advisory Board. He is the author of The Confederate War (Harvard, 1999) and Lee and His Generals in War and Memory (LSU, 1998), as well as the editor of numerous collections, most recently Leaders of the Lost Cause (Stackpole, 2004).
