Gabriel García Márquez (1927 – 2014), a revered writer and Nobel laureate in Literature, famous for works such as The General in His Labyrinth (Knopf, 1990), Love in the Time of Cholera (Knopf, 1988), and One Hundred Years of Solitude (Harper & Row, 1967). In 2003, he began to tell his life story through his autobiography Living to Tell the Tale (Knopf, 2003). The English edition of his last novel, Memories of My Melancholy Whores, was translated by Edith Grossman and published by Knopf in fall 2005.
