Elaine Terranova
Biography
Elaine Terranova is the author of The Dog’s Heart and two previous books of poems, The Cult of the Right Hand, which won the Walt Whitman Award, and Damages. She has translated Euripides’ Iphigenia at Aulis. Her awards include a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. She has been a fellow at Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference and Banister Writer in Residence at Sweet Briar College. Her work has appeared on Philadelphia buses in the Poetry Society’s Poetry in Motion project. She has been a winner of the Anna Davidson Rosenberg Award and has been honored by the PA Center for the Book. Her work appears in a number of anthologies including Blood to Remember, The Poetry Daily Anthology, Sixty Years of American Poetry and The Gift of Tongues. She teaches at the Community College of Phila.
