Donald Hall

Donald Hall is the author of over a dozen books of poetry, most recently White Apples and the Taste of Stone (Houghton Mifflin, 2006) and The Painted Bed (Houghton Mifflin, 2002). He has also authored criticism, textbooks, sports journalism, memoirs, biographies, children’s books, and plays. His awards include the Lamont Poetry Prize, two Guggenheim Fellowships, the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize, the National Book Critics Circle Award for Poetry, the Los Angeles Times Book Prize in poetry, and the Frost Medal. He has been the Poet Laureate of New Hampshire and in June 2006 was named the U.S. Poet Laureate.
