Cynthia Shearer

Biography

Cynthia Shearer is the author of two works of fiction, The Celestial Jukebox (Shoemaker & Hoard/Avalon, 2005) and The Wonder Book of the Air (Pantheon/Vintage, 1996), which won the 1996 prize for fiction from the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters. Her work has appeared in such publications as Tri-Quarterly, the Missouri Review, and the Oxford American. Formerly a curator of Rowan Oak, William Faulkner’s home in Oxford, Mississippi, she teaches at Texas Christian University
