Cristanne Miller

Biography

Cristanne Miller is W. M. Keck Distinguished Service Professor and Professor of English at Pomona College. Her books on Moore include Marianne Moore: Questions of Authority (Harvard 1995) and The Selected Letters of Marianne Moore, coedited with Bonnie Costello and Celeste Goodridge (Knopf 1997). She is now completing a monograph called “Berlin/New York: Modernist Cultures and the Poetry of Women.”

In 1967, Viking Press published The Complete Poems of Marianne Moore. Moore’s only explanation for the dozens of published poems eliminated from her “complete” work consisted of the brief epigraph: “Omissions are not accidents.”
