Carolyn Forché

Biography

Carolyn Forché is the author of five books of poetry, most recently In the Lateness of the World (Penguin, 2020), Blue Hour (Harper Collins, 2003), and The Angel of History (Harper Collins, 1994). She is also the author of What You Have Heard Is True: A Memoir of Witness and Resistance (Penguin, 2019), which won the Juan E. Mendez Book Award for Human Rights in Latin America. In addition to writing poetry, Forché works as a translator, is a professor at Georgetown University, and serves as a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets.
