Barry Gifford
Biography
Barry Gifford’s fiction, nonfiction, and poetry have been published in twenty-eight languages. He has been the recipient of awards from the NEA, PEN, the ALA, and the Writers Guild of America. His books Sailor’s Holiday (Random House, 1991) and The Phantom Father (Crane Hill, 1997) were each named a Notable Book of the Year by the New York Times. His film credits include Perdita Durango, Lost Highway, City of Ghosts, and Wild at Heart, directed by David Lynch, which won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1990.
