Contributor Profiles

Charles Wright served as the US poet laureate from 2014 to 2015. His many awards include the Pulitzer Prize, a National Book Award, a National Book Critics Circle Award for poetry, and the 1993 Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize for lifetime achievement. His most recent books include Caribou (FSG, 2014), Bye-and-Bye: Selected Late Poems (FSG, 2012), Sestets (FSG, 2009), and Littlefoot (FSG, 2007). He served as the guest editor of the 2008 edition of The Best American Poetry.

W. D. Ehrhart, a former Marine sergeant and veteran of the Vietnam War, holds a PhD in American Studies from the University of Wales, where he did his dissertation on American poetry of the Korean War. He is author of 14 books of prose and poetry, and editor or coeditor of four anthologies, and has been publishing regularly in VQR since 1980. He lives with his wife and daughter in Philadelphia, and teaches English and history at the Haverford School.
