Manuscript of “Suicide Pact” by V. Sackville-West, 1937

This week we are highlighting the poet, novelist, and playwright V. Sackville-West. Sackville-West began correspondence with VQR after we published a review of her 1936 book, Saint Joan of Arc, in the Winter 1937 issue. VQR’s editor, Stringfellow Barr, sent her a copy of that issue and a note inviting her to submit any of her previously unpublished writing to VQR. Sackville-West then submitted the manuscript of “Suicide Pact,” which VQR published in its Summer 1937 issue.
