Claire Boyles is the author of Site Fidelity (Norton, 2021), a collection of short stories from which “Alto Cumulus Standing Lenticulars” is excerpted. Her writing has appeared in VQR, the Kenyon Review, Boulevard, and elsewhere. She lives and writes in Colorado.
Alex S. MacLean has won numerous awards, including the 2009 CORINE International Book Award, the American Academy of Rome’s Prix de Rome in Landscape Architecture for 2003-2004, and grants from foundations such as the National Endowment for the Arts and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting in 2014.
