Biography

James Whorton Jr. has written three novels, and his essays and short stories have appeared in magazines including Chicago Quarterly Review, the Gettysburg Review, the Iowa Review, Mississippi Review, the Oxford American, the Sewanee Review, the Southern Review, and SWING. His essay “An Upset Place” was chosen by Wesley Morris for The Best American Essays 2024. He teaches at SUNY Brockport.
